Care for your Flowers
A little extra care can make a big difference!

Keep the vase filled with water containing floral food provided by Blossom Town. Be sure to follow the directions on the package.
If the solution becomes cloudy, replace it entirely. If possible, re-cut the stems by removing 1/2 inch to one inch. Remove leaves that will be below the waterline. Leaves in water will promote bacterial growth that can harm the flowers.

What is floral food and why use it?

Floral food is a combination of additives that help to nourish the flowers and discourage bacteria from growing in the water. It is one of the best—and easiest—ways to extend the life of your flowers. It is very important to follow the directions on the package correctly. Improperly mixed floral food can do more harm than good.

Essentials for your flowers

Keep them in a cool spot (65 to 72 degrees Fahrenheit; 18 to 22 degrees Celsius), away from direct sunlight, heating or cooling vents, direct drafts from a ceiling fan, and the tops of televisions or radiators. (Appliances like televisions give off heat, causing flowers to dehydrate.)

Care for your Summer Containers

To check for watering, stick your index finger into the soil to your knuckle. If you feel any dampness, hold off on watering. If it feels completely dry, go ahead and water making sure you let the water run all they way through the container. If the water runs through very quickly, repeat the procedure in about an hour.

Warning regarding cats and lilies.

According to the National Animal Poison Control Center, certain types of lilies can cause renal failure in cats that have ingested any part of the lily. We strongly suggest keeping lilies out of reach of cats. For more information contact your veterinarian or the Animal Poison Control Center (APCC) at www.aspca.org/apcc or call 888-426-4435. It is important to note that lilies do not pose a problem for other pets or humans
